Well…where do we even start?
First, the most important WORDS.
HONORING! Day in and day out the men and women of the Energy Industry bust their backside to drill, pump and transport American Oil coming from American Soil (our Williston Basin). This is our way of paying homage to their dedication. They are heroes to us!
CELEBRATING! On September 17th, 2011, we’ll celebrate 60 years of Energy Industry workers bringing economic prosperity to the Williston Basin. Oil was discovered in North Dakota on April 4th, 1951 near Tioga, North Dakota.
GRATEFUL! As the rest of the country struggles to get back on its feet, we are blessed to have the energy sector thriving in the Williston Basin.
FUN!…for everyone. Young to old will be delighted by all that’s going on. Kids events from face-painting to clowns. Of course, the kids will sleep soundly after jumping in the inflatables all afternoon.
VISUAL! Nowhere else in North Dakota can you see the largest Energy Industry parade. You’ll see all the different colors and logos as they stroll by you. You’ll see unique floats and hear wonderful music.Get an up close and personal look at some of the finest energy industry equipment in the Williston Basin.
SHINY! All Parade entrants will be showcasing meticulously clean floats, trucks and equipment.
EDUCATIONAL! Every Energy Industry Parade Entry will have information featured about them in newspaper and given to local area schools. You will get a “101” education of every aspect of how the industry works and how it’s interconnected.
COMPETITIVE! (for those choosing to enter the Contests)

Arm Wrestling – Got BIG GUNS from working in the patch? Prove it!
Truck Pull – Oh my, it’s heavy. Bring your team of 4. You can’t pull it alone!
Prepare to sweat. It’s all brute strength on this one!
Bit Throw … We know you can get one 10,000 feet deep and 10,000 feet horizontal. But, how far can you throw it?
Tug of War – Let’s get dirty teams of 4. Not for the timid. Yes, we’ll have portable showers. We don’t want you going to the Dance dirty.
Pageant – She’s divine!
Food – People’s Choice Awards from the Food Festival will be awarded to First and Second Place. All money collected will go to help our flooded neighbors to the east in Minot.
FILLING! Wait till you savor all the foods coming to our Food Festival – Pace yourself food temptation will be in full display.
RELAXING (everyone in the Basin is working hard)…it’s time kick back, relax, mingle and enjoy a fall day.
